“This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.”
Psalms 118:24 NLT
I was dropping my husband off at work this morning, and the clear skies were interrupted by a lone dark rainy cloud. This wasn’t just a light drizzle it was a oh-no-I-can’t-see-very-well type of rain. To add to that, the main entrance to my husband’s workplace was locked so I had to back up the car into a busy street and navigate through construction blocks. I had every reason to complain. And for a moment – I did. But just as I was leaving the area and the rain was letting up a bit, I started to think what the benefits were to the rain I was so frustrated about.
Father, thank you for the rain, the rain that waters our grass and gardens, the rain that helps the farmer with the cultivation for their harvest, the rain that is providing water for all your creatures. Lord, and while we don’t know all the reasons for the rain, you ultimately have your reasons for it. Lord, help us that even though we complain or get frustrated – we can keep our eyes on your promises and what is good and perfect. For everything that comes from you is good and perfect. You are the Master Planner! Your perfect plans are what we trust in. Even if we don’t understand. In your precious name Jesus! Amen!
So finally when I get home. The skies were clear and the clouds simply amazing! There were splashes of light blue and pink and oranges. The creatures around me were singing their own praises to start the day. I reflected on the morning’s rain cloud and even when there are times when it looks bleak, God in his own timing, brings us back into beautiful skies. Let us all cling to that hope and Yes let us rejoice and be glad! For this is the day the Lord has made!!
Have a blessed day everyone?❣️
